i feel like there’s a bit of a tendency in leftist circles to do the same thing conservatives do, and pine for an imaginary time period that never existed. except instead of like, ancient rome, or the 50s, a lot of people are weirdly fixated on like…the middle ages? or the hunter-gatherer days? or pirates? like people will try to be anti-capitalist and say “oh medieval peasants had better lives than we do” or “humans used to all live in small communities that took care of each other” and like. idk man id rather have vaccines and the ability to leave your abuser and the right to vote.
it’s tempting to think that since things are bad, they must be uniquely bad. but there is no utopia in the past that we need to return to, no garden of eden we were cast out of with the advent of. idk the industrial revolution or whatever. we need to create a better future, not despair about an imagined past.
i work as cna and recently hours have been very very scarce and only this week have i been able to pick up 3 shifts but that means i get that pay next week and i’ve run out of things to eat❤️❤️❤️pls pls boost or if ur willing and able pls d*nate anything helps☀️☀️❤️❤️✊🏾😩
I prefer the theory that Miles has a B in Spanish because the Spanish they teach in schools is different than the Spanish he speaks at home more than the theory that he’s just bad at Spanish
Also, I’m getting tired of how people keep portraying Miles as more and more terrible at Spanish, like even if he’s not better at home, a B is still good!!
I know it’s mostly just jokes, but I swear it’s gonna cause a ton of people to just believe that Miles is just horrible at Spanish and refuse to give up that characterization, we’re gonna be watching in real time as a fanon version of a character gets popular and unavoidable
If I may add to it, I think it’s far more likely that he had B in Spanish because there were papers and homeworks he didn’t have the time to do because of his job as Spiderman (and since he wants to study physics, it makes sense he would give the priority to more scientific subjects) than because he actually had bad grades to a test he passed.
They literally tell us in the movie that he got a B bc he missed 6 classes.
It has nothing to do with how well he knows Spanish, or even about the homework.
It’s because of his Attendance grade
I forgot about that line but there’s still a lot of good points on this post about Miles deciding what to prioritize and his Spanish stuff falling to the side since he already knows it which ties in perfectly with the missing attendance thing
Like he’s just praying that all the villains attack when it’s his Spanish classes because he’s not worried about passing them
